I left Harvard with no real awareness of the awful inequities in the world - the applalling disparities of health, and wealth, and opportunity that condemn millions of people to lives of despair
저는 세상의 끔찍한 불평등, 즉, 수백만의 사람들을 절망스러운 삶에 처하게 만드는 건강, 부, 기회의 섬뜩한 불균형을 진정으로 자각하지 못한 채 하버드를 떠났습니다.

 

I learned a lot there at Harvard about new ideas in economics and politics.
저는 이곳 하버드에서 경제학과 정치학의 새로운 사상을 많이 배웠습니다.

 

I got great exposure to the advances being made in the sciences.
저는 여러 학문에서 얻어진 발전을 많이 접했습ㄴ다.

 

But humanity's greatest advances are not in its discoveries - but in how those discoveries are applied to reduce inequity.
그러나 인류의 가장 큰 진보는 그 발견에 있지 않고 불평등을 줄이기 위해 그 발견을 어떻게 적용하는가에 있습니다.
